Biophotonics and Nanomedicine

The Symposium will address the latest advances in biophotonics and nanomedicine technologies for life science imaging, instrumentation and devices for applications in biology and in clinical practice, such as: Investigation of cellular and sub-cellular events, tissue imaging & diagnostics, applications to food and drug analysis, new sensors/techniques for point-of-care, deep learning applications (e.g. genetics, imaging, hyperspectral analysis, etc.) and others.

The Symposium would provide an interdisciplinary platform for researchers, medical practitioners and educators to:

  • discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns;
  • share the practical challenges encountered and most recent proposed and/or tested solutions in this field;
  • network with specialists from around the world and increase one’s knowledge of, and exposure to, reputed academia scholars, experts from medical research institutes and representatives of biotech companies.

Biophotonics track

  • Optical spectroscopy, microscopy and imaging ;
  • Opto-acoustic in bioimaging and biotheraphy;
  • Computational biophotonics;
  • Tissue optics and laser-tissue interactions;
  • Integrated optical systems / sensors for medical diagnostics;
  • Biophotonics in medical research;
  • Biophotonic materials.

Nanomedicine track

  • Nano-carriers for drug delivery and drug targeting;
  • Nanomaterials for drug and gene delivery;
  • siRNA Therapeutics and nanovectors;
  • Photon-based approaches in nanomedicine;
  • Theranostic nanotechnologies and biomarkers;
  • Nanomaterials toxicity and immunogenecity;
  • Nanorobotics for early diagnosis and targeted drug delivery;
  • Nanotechnology needle arrays for drug delivery.
