Advances in Additive Manufacturing: Experiments and Modeling from Cutting-edge Fundamental and Applied Research

Driven by continuous insertion in industrial manufacturing lines, Additive Manufacturing is realizing its disruptive potential from the pioneering works of the ’80s. Today, many new challenges, both in terms of experiments and modeling, remain unsolved across all classes of processes (powder-bed fusion, directed energy deposition, stereolithography, material extrusion, material jetting) and materials (metals, ceramics, polymers).

We call for all researchers in the field, worldwide, to come and present their cutting-edge research, enjoy great community discussion, and contribute to the advance of this exciting field.

The Symposium welcomes contributions in experiments and modeling of:

  • Additive manufacturing of metals, plastics and ceramics materials: SLM, EBM, BJP, SLS, SLA, DLP, FDM, DED;
  • Pre- and post-processing: powder atomization, HIP, heat treatment, machining;
  • Materials development for 3D printing: alloy and powder formulation, resins, inks, binder, composite powder;
  • Materials science of Additive Manufacturing: solid/liquid/vapor phase transformation, microstructure evolution, sintering, polymer curing, binding, shrinkage, defects and structural evolution;
  • Additive Manufacturing and Industry 4.0;
  • Emerging additive processes and materials.
